HUXWRX PISTOL ACCESSORIES OVERVIEW
With so many different pistol suppressor accessories out there, it's easy to get confused. To make things a little easier, we've provided an overview of the pistol accessories we offer, as well as an in-depth look at how to set up your pistol suppressors for handguns and fixed-barrel carbines.
HANDGUNS
Every RAD45 and RAD9 comes stock with a piston and spring (booster assembly), making it ready to shoot on a handgun right out of the box.
Booster Assembly Explained:
Pistols rely on the recoil of the gun to cycle the action properly. Most handguns are not designed to handle the extra weight of a suppressor. The piston offsets the suppressor's weight, and the spring boosts pressure at the muzzle, allowing the barrel to unlock and the firearm to cycle correctly.
PCC + FIXED BARREL CARBINE
The spring is not needed in the suppressor because fixed barrel carbines do not use barrel movement to help cycle the firearm. When mounting a pistol suppressor on a PCC, or fixed barrel firearm, you will need to either use a fixed barrel spacer or a direct thread adapter.
Fixed Barrel Spacer vs. Direct Thread Adapter
A fixed barrel spacer takes the place of the spring, disabling any movement in the piston. The fixed barrel spacer is cheaper than the direct thread adapter, but because it must be used in conjunction with the piston, it adds slightly more weight to the suppressor. Also, the thread pitch on your handgun muzzle must match your PCC's for the fixed barrel spacer to work.
Because most PCCs use a different thread pitch than handguns, replacing the entire booster assembly with a direct thread adapter is the next option. The direct thread adapter is a rear end cap with a thread pitch that matches your firearm. Remove the entire booster assembly and replace it with the new end cap (direct thread adapter). This option will also reduce the overall weight of the suppressor.
